Memorial Women’s Specialists provides support for every stage of your pregnancy.
Pre-pregnancy care
Prior to pregnancy, Memorial Women’s Specialists evaluates your fertility and helps you get as healthy as possible to conceive. They also provide screenings and assistance if you’re facing infertility issues.
Prenatal care
Prenatal care is provided throughout the nine months of your pregnancy. Regular monitoring of your baby’s growth, your health, and the progression of pregnancy help ensure your delivery goes smoothly. If you’re at a higher risk of complications, prenatal care is adjusted to support your needs.
Delivery
Memorial Women’s Specialists helps you develop a birth plan that they adhere to as closely as possible while looking out for your health and the health of your baby. The OB/GYNs are adept at both vaginal and cesarean deliveries, and are experienced in delivering multiples.
Postnatal care
Memorial Women’s Specialists provides the physical and mental health support and screenings necessary to help you heal from childbirth.
What is a high-risk pregnancy?
A high-risk pregnancy is one that carries a greater risk of complications during gestation or delivery. Factors that make your pregnancy high risk include:
- Maternal age of 35 or older, or 17 or younger
- Carrying multiples, such as twins or triplets
- A pre-existing maternal health condition, such as hypertension or diabetes
- Development of gestational diabetes or preeclampsia during pregnancy
- A history of a high-risk pregnancy
- Concerns about the health of your baby
Highly experienced management of high-risk pregnancy may involve more frequent prenatal appointments. You may also undergo additional screenings and tests to monitor your health and your baby’s health.
If you go into early or premature labor, Memorial Women’s Specialists has the expertise to provide you and your baby the best possible care.
Should I seek pregnancy care even if I’ve been pregnant before?
You should absolutely have medical support for each pregnancy, whether it’s your first or your fifth child. Each pregnancy is different and new complications can arise each time. You want the support of qualified medical practitioners to ensure you have the right care if something goes wrong or if your pregnancy develops differently than others.
If you’re pregnant or planning on getting pregnant soon, schedule an appointment at Memorial Women’s Specialists by phone or book online today.
